Single-Clad & Double-Clad Passive Fibers

Our single-clad and double-clad passive fibers feature low background losses and excellent geometrical properties. They are tailored to provide optimal matching and minimal splice losses between active and passive fibers often used to match with a double-clad active fiber when quasi-single-mode operation is required. Therefore, our single-clad and double-clad passive fibers offer perfect pairing with our range of active fibers.

Applications

  • Passive component manufacturing
  • Fiber Lasers and amplifiers
  • Material processing
  • Fiber coupling of high-power diode lasers
  • Sensing
  •
Polarization-maintaining (PM) fibers rely on the fact that an intentional birefringence introduced in the fiber will maintain two polarization modes that propagate along the fiber distinctly. To transmit this polarized light, a passive fiber with the same PM properties is needed. We have a wide range of passive PM fibers that match their active fiber to minimize losses caused by mismatching.
